Renewable energies have been witnessing global attention for decades, although this interest has accelerated significantly in recent years; with the hectic demand for energy globally, the depletion of traditional sources of energy and the pollution associated with its consumption are killing humanity. Of course, the desired alternative should be safe for the environment and not running out, and this is currently only possible in renewable sources of energies.

Renewable energies are particularly important in Libya, oil is almost the only source of income so far, and burning oil to secure energy supplies means the loss of huge amounts of national wealth that can be saved if renewable energies are used to meet some energy needs. The current existence of oil is a golden opportunity to invest in renewable energies to become an alternative source of income for future generations. Research, development and investment in renewable energies is not a scientific luxury or transitory media propaganda, but an urgent need and a race against time. The countries of the world are competing today to acquire these technologies, and every day we go far and far, our oil wealth is wasted with nothing new to come, thereby reducing the chances of survival.

Theoretically, renewable energies can cover the growing global demand for energy without issues, but that does not mean that the transition from existing situation will be without problems. Much research and development efforts are required and infrastructure is being renovated to suit new technologies, as global laboratories, research centers and companies working in the field strive through joint cooperation, constructive integration and serious plans. On the contrary, much of the research and development efforts in our individual countries are dispersed, with little priority to regulate and little support at large. Its main objective is to achieve the requirements of scientific promotion of its owner, the wheel of the days is going on and our research does not achieve more lines in our resumes. Is there a way?
